IMPORTANT THOUGHTS FROM THE Richardson D. White Elementary School COMMUNITY

THINGS PEOPLE APPRECIATE

Core family values –

I am so fortunate to have my child attending a school with a principal and teachers who are so family oriented and in keeping with traditions.

Caring staff –

Most of the teachers really care about the kids and are working extremely hard to reach their needs, especially with the switch to common core.

The art, music, and computer programs. –

I appreciate that kids sing Armenian at ceremonies it is impressive –

Administrative involvement –

it is really appreciated that the principle and the vice principle are always available, they are always on the field and outside with the parents, and that they have a unique connection with almost every student.

SOME CONCERNS

Not enough materials and curriculum available to implement the CCSS –

Teacher – student ratio is insufficient and the sizes of classrooms are –

Almost 40 students each which makes difficult to the teachers to give enough support and help to each student.

I am really worry for clean and healthy food. –

CCSS Implementation Process, new report cards, End of Unit assessments. –

There have been a lot of new things for teachers to learn this year. Teachers are feeling overwhelmed, but supported.

Need more police during the school hours for safety of kids –

OTHER THOUGHTS SHARED

Safety is important to everyone –

Thank you for maintaining a safe environment for our kids

Drop off zone is very helpful for parents who are rushing to arrive their –

work on time. Thank you for volunteer parents who spend their valuable time for the improvement of our school.

I think most classes need teachers assistants. –

Would love to see class sizes of 30 or less with 2 adults per class. Open up Internships. Future educators can get their feet wet, get experience on resume, & assist in making the teachers life less stressful and more efficient. More time real teaching experience for kids, better connections made.

Room parents –

I really like the the program the PTA is starting this year with room parents in every classroom. This may get more parents involved.

VERY SATISFIED –

WITH OUR PRINCIPAL AND VICE PRINCIPAL AT RD WHITE.
