IMPORTANT THOUGHTS FROM THE John C. Fremont Elementary School COMMUNITY

THINGS PEOPLE APPRECIATE

We appreciate the wonderful teachers and staff at Fremont! –

What a great elementary school! Fremont has given our daughter numerous opportunities for intellectual and interpersonal growth. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful school in our neighborhood šŸ™‚

I appreciate that we have strong parent leadership. –

We have a very strong PTA and PAC foundation. These groups do an incredible amount of beneficial work for our school.

Technology –

The school is working to use technology well. I-ready offers great blended learning that challenges students and helps them fill in gaps in their skill base. There are more computers and some iPads so students can develop research skills and become responsible digital citizens.

There are a wonderful group of teachers here at Fremont. –

I believe that the teachers care for their students and their education and want them to thrive.

I love everything PAC does –

I appreciate everything PAC does to make Fremont a community!

SOMEĀ CONCERNS

Class size. –

It is hard on both the teachers and the students to have more than 30 students in one elementary class. Especially when it is the norm for for a class to have one or more students that require regular focused attention from the teacher.

Middle school magnet program –

This should be offered at one of the schools…in math and science or the arts

GATE? –

The district puts on a few events and may have a field trip but this is not really a gifted program. Specific curriculum opportunities need to be implemented to address those students who need challenging curriculum and some time in a unique setting with like peers to address their needs.

My concern would be in regards to the implementation of common core. –

I would want to know that my children are smoothly transitioning to the common core curriculum and that they understand why this curriculum is now being implemented in the classroom.

My only concern is that the student to teacher ratio is too large. –

This is important to me because I want my child to have the best education possible.

OTHER THOUGHTS SHARED

Lots of support (financial) from PTA/PAC –

I am very pleased with the amount of support to my son’s school (Fremont) that pays for so much–the String and Winds music opportunities (when he gets older), the Halloween “Bootique,” and all the other ways Fremont builds community into its financial support.

It is great to be part of the John C. Fremont Elementary community. –

The parents at this school seem to be dedicated to ensuring all the kids get a great education.

Fabulous, Friendly, Fremont! –

Even with all the new education curriculum, the Fremont Family, which consists of everyone including Administrators, Teachers, Staff, Parents & Students make our school a positive environment for children to learn & grow in each day!

Admin., Gen. Ed.,SPED, staff,& parents are working together to ensure –

the success of our students comes first. A united front is so important in any school. Fremont is a happy, family oriented, open door campus. The children are happy and engaged in learning.

Good communications –

This school has pretty good communications to parents. There are many different venues that you can check to stay up to date on what is going on at school.
